Adeleke Unveils Fresh Development Plans as Osun Marks 35th Anniversary

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has promised to consolidate his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, sports, agriculture and the digital economy as the state marks its 35th anniversary.

Adeleke made the commitment in a statewide broadcast commemorating the anniversary of the creation of Osun State, while seeking the continued support and cooperation of residents to accelerate development across the state.

The governor said his administration would pay greater attention to wealth creation, poverty reduction, rural development and ease of doing business as part of efforts to improve the living conditions of residents.

He said, “We will build on our achievements on state infrastructure, digital economy, sports development, agricultural mechanisation, education and healthcare expansion.”

Adeleke also assured young people, women and students of continued attention under his administration, stressing that their interests would remain central to the government’s development programmes.

According to him, “The youth, women and students will continue to receive special attention. We will expand industrialisation within the scope of workers’ welfare.”

The governor said the government would equally intensify efforts towards rural integrated development while creating a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

He added that the administration would focus more on creating wealth and deepening its anti-poverty initiatives across the state.

Adeleke said his administration would continue to implement its renewed five-point agenda while adhering to due process, procurement regulations and best practices in project execution.

“We will continue to implement our renewed five point agenda within the compass of due process, procurement regulations and project implementation best practices,” he said.

The governor also promised to further strengthen the local content policy of the administration and expand financial inclusion through cooperative sector financing.

He said the government’s development strategy would be inclusive and responsive to the needs of residents, assuring that his administration would remain open to criticisms that could help improve governance.

“Our administration will be all inclusive and attentive to criticisms in our bid to strengthen state development,” Adeleke said.

He called for continued cooperation from residents, saying the government could achieve more when citizens, businesses and other stakeholders worked together for the advancement of the state.

The governor expressed gratitude to the people for their resilience and commitment to the development of Osun over the past 35 years.

He said despite the challenges confronting the state, there was much to celebrate and much more to accomplish in the years ahead.
