The National Chairman of Kungiyar Hausa Nigeria, popularly known as Hausa Zallah, Abdullahi Abdullahi, has congratulated Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim on his reported court victory and the inclusion of his name on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) platform as the Accord Party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

Abdullahi described the development as significant for Nigeria’s democratic process, stressing the importance of the rule of law and respect for judicial decisions.

In a congratulatory message shared on social media, the Hausa Zallah leader commended Hashim for remaining steadfast throughout the legal process, expressing optimism that the outcome would strengthen confidence in the country’s democratic institutions.

“I warmly congratulate Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim on this significant court victory affirming his candidacy as the presidential candidate of the Accord Party for the 2027 presidential election,” Abdullahi stated.

He expressed hope that the development would usher in a new chapter of national unity, responsible leadership and constructive service to the country.

The congratulatory message comes amid growing online advocacy for Hashim’s presidential ambition, particularly among some Hausa-speaking activists who have increasingly used social media platforms to promote his candidacy ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a related development, leaders of Hausa Zallah had visited Hashim in Abuja weeks earlier, with the engagement subsequently shared on social media. The visit, alongside online campaigns by some Hausa-speaking supporters, has drawn attention to the Accord Party candidate’s growing visibility within sections of the Hausa-speaking digital community.

The developments come as political parties and aspirants intensify efforts to build public support ahead of the next presidential election.

Hashim’s reported inclusion on INEC’s candidate platform following the court ruling has also generated further discussion about his candidacy and the Accord Party’s prospects in the forthcoming contest.

However, it remains unclear whether Abdullahi’s congratulatory message represents his personal position or a formal endorsement by Hausa Zallah as an organisation. The statement did not explicitly declare the group’s adoption of Hashim as its preferred presidential candidate.

Nevertheless, the congratulatory message, coming alongside the reported court victory, INEC listing and previous engagement between Hashim and Hausa Zallah leaders, has added to the public attention surrounding his presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election.
