Toluwanisings: Family Announces October 27 Tribute Night In Ibadan
The family of late Nigerian gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has announced plans to hold a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in honour of the deceased.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State, with guests expected to appear in white attire.
Toluwanisings died on Wednesday, October 14, after reportedly slumping at his residence in Ibadan.
Following his death, his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, said efforts were made to secure medical attention for the singer, claiming that he was taken to about eight hospitals without receiving treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the reported difficulty in securing medical attention sparked public concern, with the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, subsequently responding to claims relating to the incident.
In announcing the tribute event on the singer’s official Instagram page, the family said the gathering would celebrate his life, legacy and contributions to gospel music and ministry.
“With heavy hearts, yet in gratitude to God for a life that touched many, we invite you to join us for a Night of Tributes in honour of our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister, Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, fondly known as Toluwanisings,” the family stated.
The family described the programme as an opportunity for friends, associates, fans and members of the gospel music community to reflect on the singer’s life and celebrate the impact he made during his lifetime.
According to the statement, the event would be “a night of love, reflection, heartfelt tributes, cherished memories, and thanksgiving to God for the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.”
The singer’s death reportedly occurred less than 24 hours after his final ministration at Bidemi Olaoba’s In His Presence worship service in Ibadan.
His passing has continued to attract tributes from colleagues, worshippers and members of the public, many of whom have expressed sorrow over the loss of the gospel minister.
The Night of Tributes and Service of Songs is expected to provide an opportunity for mourners to honour his memory and celebrate his contributions to gospel music and Christian ministry.
