Eid-el-fitr: ‘Tinubu, Governors Must Not Dash Hope Of Nigerians’- Prof Olagoke

-Calls For Return Of Price Control Board To Tackle Inflation

As Muslims in the country and across the world celebrate this year’s Eid-‘l-Fitri , the founder, spiritual head and grand imam of Shafaudeen-in-Islam Worldwide, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP has urged president Bola Tinubu and the state governors not to dash the hope of Nigerians who voted them into office.

The Islamic cleric, in his message to the nation tiled “Nigeria Democracy And Hope 2023″to felicitates Muslims over the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, called on the country’s leaders to urgently return Price Control Board to cushion the effects of high cost of essential items

Olagoke, who is also the Ajagun Esin (Religion Warlord) of Oyo State, noted that expectations are high on improving the socio-economic state of the nation, people’s welfare and security needs .

He said the President Bola Tinubu administration can only succeed if it stands on the dictates of the law and all corrupt officials on the corridor of power and agencies of government are appropriately sanctioned by the appropriate arm of government as well as anti- graft agencies,adding that the attitudinal challenge of those in positions of power and the people generally can only be corrected under Strategic Re-orientation for Rebirth and Rebranding

“For the government of Tinubu to succeed needs to stand on the dictate of the law for regulation and growth through the appropriate arms of government- Judiciary, EFCC, ICPC, SERVICOM, ACTU, NDLEA, SON, NAFDAC and other anti-graft agencies.

” Corrupt officials among these agencies in government and those in the corridor of power must be sanctioned as appropriate! A stitch in time saves nine not to dash the Hope 2023 that drove people into voting APC Government into power. What of returning Price Control Board to cushion the effect of high cost of essential items? Tinubu’s government and all Governors must act now before 2027 comes in to raise and brighten our hope.

“Democracy is a preferred governance philosophy because of the offered opportunity for freedom of expression. However, people abuse this with ignorance into hate speech.

“Corruption and Indiscipline rubbishing the efforts of government into non-performance rating by the governed whose expectations are high on improving the Socio-economic state of the nation, people’s welfare and security needs. The regulating axis of democracy is justice dispensation for sound judgment on the abusers of the privileges.

“The attitudinal challenge of those in positions of power and the people generally can only be corrected under Strategic Re-orientation for Rebirth and Rebranding. The need for positive measures for deterrence will create environment for sustainable development because the human and material resources are in abundance” , he said
