The Accord Party senatorial candidate for Osun Central, Aare Ganiyu Olaoluwa Asejere, has pledged to provide quality representation to the people of the district if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Asejere gave the assurance during the inauguration of his campaign council at Adebimpe Event Hall in Osogbo, Osun State, where he expressed his readiness to serve the people and deliver the dividends of effective legislative representation.

“I am mentally and emotionally fortified to deliver the dividends of quality representation to the people of Osun Central Senatorial District,” he said.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, charged members of the campaign council to demonstrate commitment, integrity and diligence in their efforts to secure victory for the party.

The governor also cautioned them against activities capable of undermining the party’s objectives, urging them to remain united and focused on the task ahead.

The Secretary to the Osun State Government and chairman of the campaign council, Teslim Igbalaye, expressed confidence in Asejere’s chances, citing his political experience and grassroots connections.

Igbalaye noted that the candidate’s previous roles as a local government chairman and party chairman, alongside his previous senatorial ambition, had given him considerable political experience and recognition across the state.

“We don’t have much of a problem because Ganiyu Olaoluwa is a grassroots politician. He was a local government chairman, party chairman, and he is contesting the second time as a senatorial candidate. We all know him in Osun,” he said.

He also expressed optimism that the performance of the Adeleke administration would strengthen the party’s chances at the polls.

“Coupled with the work of the governor, I think we are good to go, and I believe in Almighty Allah that God will give us victory,” Igbalaye added.

The SSG urged Accord members, party faithful and supporters of the governor to vote for the party’s candidates in the legislative elections while supporting President Bola Tinubu in the presidential poll.

He explained that since Accord had no presidential candidate, its members could support Tinubu while voting for Accord candidates in the senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections.

“I am imploring all our party faithful, members, voters, lovers of Accord and supporters of Ademola Adeleke to vote for all Accord candidates in the senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections. But for president, we are voting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Also speaking, Yeye Dupe Adeleke Sanni urged party members to shun anti-party activities and work collectively to ensure victory for Asejere and other Accord candidates.

She warned against actions capable of weakening the party’s electoral prospects, stressing the need for unity, discipline and cooperation among members.

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, described Asejere as a competent candidate, expressing confidence in his ability to represent the people of Osun Central effectively.

“Asejere is a very competent candidate, and I believe he has what it takes to represent the people of Osun Central effectively,” Egbedun said.

He called on members of the campaign council to work together and mobilise support for the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Osun State chairman of the Accord Party, Pastor Victor Akande, and Senator Olu Alabi also urged party members to present Asejere’s credentials, achievements and contributions to voters to boost support for his candidacy.

Other dignitaries at the inauguration included serving members of the House of Representatives, among them Clement Akanni Olohunwa, as well as other party chieftains.
