APC National Secretary, Basiru Celebrates Adegboye At 67, Hails His Loyalty To Progressive Ideals

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Ajibola Basiru, has congratulated a former Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and party chieftain, Rt. Hon. Akintunde Adegboye, on his 67th birthday.

In a congratulatory message, Basiru described Adegboye as a committed progressive and one of the founding members of the APC in Osogbo, Osun State, whose loyalty to the party and its ideals had remained unwavering.

Basiru praised the celebrant for his selflessness, generosity and steadfast commitment to causes he believes in, describing him as a principled politician who backs his convictions with personal sacrifice.

“I felicitate my elder brother on his birthday, a politician with a difference, a selfless and altruistic politician who stands by what he believes in and commits his resources to such a cause and course,” he said.

He also described Adegboye as a devout Muslim whose modest lifestyle and disciplined disposition distinguish him in political circles.

The APC National Secretary commended the former Deputy Speaker for his dedication to the formation and growth of the Alubarika Movement, a political platform he said both men had worked to establish and nurture into a formidable force.

Basiru noted that beyond their shared political convictions, their relationship was strengthened by their common hometown and a longstanding bond of brotherhood.

“Besides the fact that we are brothers from the same town, he has been a brotherly ally, standing by me like a Rock of Gibraltar, our age gap notwithstanding. Hon. Adegboye has never been a gerontocrat in my relationship with him,” he said.

He further acknowledged Adegboye’s support during the formation of the Alubarika Movement, praising his continued commitment to strengthening the organisation and expanding its political influence.

“He stood by me in the formation of Alubarika Movement and is committed to watering and nurturing it to become a political force. I cannot thank and appreciate him enough for this,” Basiru added.

The APC National Secretary described Adegboye as one of the few politicians who continue to uphold the fundamental ideals and philosophy of progressive party politics, expressing appreciation for his consistency and dedication.

Basiru congratulated the former lawmaker on the milestone, wishing him many more prosperous years in good health and continued service to the party and society.
