See How Deputy Superintendent Police Officer’s Car Ran Into Osun River

There was a near fatal accident on Saturday afternoon when a Nissan Almera car ran into River Gbodofan in Osogbo, the Oaun State capital.

The driver of the red Nissan car marked JS 891 AAA (LAGOS), simply identified Kunle, a Deputy Superintendent of Police officer at Zone 11 of the Assistant Inspector General Office in Osogbo, was said to have lost control of the vehicle after he had ran into an 18-passenger commercial Mazda passenger bus, which was about to pick a passenger.

A passenger in the bus, Yinka, said they were coming from Offa in Kwara State and going to Ore in Ondo State.

According to him, the bus driver had stopped few meters away from the bridge to pick a passenger when suddenly the Nissan car veered off his track and rammed into them before going into the river.

The two occupants of the Nissan car, the police officer and a woman, were said to be coming from the pull out ceremony for the Zone 11 AIG that just retired at the Osogbo City Stadium.

However, the police officer and the woman, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, were immediately evacuated to the hospital by an ambulance.
