Don’t Send Just Anybody To Abuja, Elect KRAD’ – Makinde Tells Osun Central
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, has thrown his weight behind the senatorial ambition of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, describing his emergence as a senator as a major opportunity for effective representation of Osun Central.
Makinde said the district deserved a representative with the legal expertise, intellectual capacity and political influence to articulate its interests at the National Assembly, arguing that Adegoke possessed the credentials to provide quality representation.
In a statement endorsing the legal practitioner, the former lawmaker said having a SAN in the Senate would be a source of pride to Osun State and give the district an opportunity to benefit from his professional experience and legislative capacity.
“It will be a great privilege for Osun State to have a Senior Advocate of Nigeria as a senator under the final opportunity for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. This is Tinubu’s final opportunity, a time when Osun must not send just anybody to Abuja. We must send our best,” Makinde said.
He described Adegoke, popularly known as KRAD, as the right candidate for the senatorial seat, insisting that his legal background would position him to contribute meaningfully to debates on constitutional matters, governance and national development.
According to him, the legal practitioner’s familiarity with Osun Central and its challenges would also enable him to effectively represent the aspirations of the people at the federal level.
“He is not an outsider. He is a son of Osun Central. He grew up among you; he knows your pain, your markets, your schools, your roads and your aspirations. To vote for him is to vote for one of your own,” he stated.
Makinde further argued that Adegoke’s ambition aligned with the political direction of President Bola Tinubu, saying his presence in the Senate would strengthen the President’s legislative support base while creating opportunities for federal interventions in Osun Central.
“Tinubu needs strong, credible and loyal voices in the Senate for his final term. KRAD will not go to Abuja to fight the President. He will go to Abuja to support the President and bring dividends back to Osun Central,” he added.
The former federal lawmaker lamented what he described as inadequate representation of the district, stressing the need for a senator capable of attracting federal projects, sponsoring relevant motions and creating opportunities for young people.
He said Adegoke’s professional standing and experience in the legal profession would be valuable assets in the Senate, particularly in discussions involving legislation, constitutional interpretation and public policy.
Makinde also urged voters in Osun Central to consider the opportunity of having a Senior Advocate of Nigeria represent them at the National Assembly, describing it as a rare privilege that should not be overlooked.
He called on the electorate to support Adegoke’s aspiration, insisting that the district needed a representative who could combine professional competence with commitment to the development of his constituency.
“Osun Central, do not waste this final opportunity for Tinubu. Do not waste this privilege to have a SAN as your senator. Vote Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN. Vote your son for Senate,” he appealed.
He added: “A SAN in the Senate is a pride for Osun. A son in the Senate is a blessing for Osun Central.”
