Progressive League of Youth Voters for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Congratulates Sen George Akume On His Appointment As SGF

A leading Social Political Group in APC Progressive League of Youth Voters for TINUBU/SHETTIMA 2023 has Congratulated a two term Governor of Benue State whom was recently appointed by President Bola Ahmed TINUBU GCFR as Secretary to the Government of Federation SGF.

The Group in a Communique signed after their National Executive Meeting in Abuja on Friday 2nd June, 2023, Congratulated the Seasoned Politician of repute, Senator George Akume on his well deserved honour bestowed on him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, they call the appointment as a round peg in a round hole and as well befitting of the former two term Governor of Benue State between year 1999-2007.

The Group described the new SGF to Federal Republic of Nigeria as Man that actually laboured for what is reaping as a Politician.

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator George Akume born on 27 December 1953, attended University of Ibadan as an Alumnus, He served as Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs under past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2023.

He was the Senator representing Benue North-West Senatorial District from 2007 to 2019. He was also the Minority Leader of the Senate from June 2011 to June 2015. He served as the Governor of Benue State from May 1999 to May 2007, Having passed through all aforementioned port folios as handler of Executive and legislative arms of Government vis a vis member of Federal Executive Council FEC, it will be agreed that Senator George Akume will use his wealth of experience in discharging his duties in his new assignments as SGF to the Federation.
