Suspected Bandits Reportedly Kill Police Officers En Route To Zamfara
Suspected bandits have reportedly attacked a vehicle conveying police officers from Sokoto State to Zamfara State for a special duty assignment, leaving some of the personnel dead.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, November 2, 2026, although details surrounding the attack remained sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
The exact number of officers killed in the attack and whether any of the personnel survived had yet to be confirmed.
A video circulating on social media showed the lifeless bodies of some police officers inside a bus believed to have been used to convey the personnel.
The vehicle was also seen with visible bloodstains, highlighting the apparent severity of the incident.
However, the circumstances leading to the attack, including the identities of the victims and the whereabouts of any surviving officers, were not immediately established.
The reported incident has renewed concerns over persistent insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West region, where armed groups commonly referred to as bandits have continued to launch attacks on communities, ambush travellers, kill residents and abduct victims for ransom.
As of the time of publication, there was no official confirmation of the casualty figures or a detailed account of the incident from the police authorities.
Further details are expected as security agencies investigate the reported attack.
