2027: Hashim Can Defeat Tinubu In Jigawa, Says Accord Senatorial Candidate
…As presidential campaign posters reportedly spread across state
Political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election are gathering momentum in Jigawa State, with campaign posters of Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, reportedly appearing across Dutse and other parts of the state.
The development comes amid growing political discussions over a possible “Tinubu Must Go” rally, adding to the emerging contest ahead of the presidential election.
Speaking with journalists during a stakeholders’ engagement in Dutse, Accord senatorial candidate, Comrade Aminu Aminu, expressed confidence that Hashim could defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Jigawa State in 2027.
Aminu, who also coordinates the Hashim Progressive Movement, said sustained grassroots mobilisation and effective coordination among support groups would be critical to expanding the Accord candidate’s support base across the state.
The stakeholders’ engagement reportedly brought together leaders of various support groups to discuss mobilisation strategies ahead of Hashim’s anticipated presidential campaign activities in Jigawa.
Aminu’s declaration reflects the optimism among the candidate’s supporters, who believe that wider public engagement and grassroots outreach could strengthen the party’s electoral prospects in the state.
As part of the broader mobilisation strategy, Aminu has also announced a target of securing six million votes for Hashim across the seven states of the North-West geopolitical zone.
The states are Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara.
The reported spread of Hashim’s campaign posters across Dutse and other parts of Jigawa is also adding visibility to his presidential ambition, as supporters seek to take his message beyond political meetings and reach more prospective voters.
Meanwhile, discussions surrounding a possible “Tinubu Must Go” rally could introduce another dimension to the political contest in the state. However, details concerning the proposed rally, including its organisers and timing, were not immediately clear.
The combination of stakeholders’ consultations, grassroots mobilisation and the six-million-vote target underscores the efforts by Hashim’s supporters to build a coordinated political challenge in the North-West ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Whether the campaign can translate its growing visibility and mobilisation targets into electoral support remains to be seen as political activities intensify across the region.
