2027: APC Igbimo-agba Osun Backs Adeleke’s Tinubu Re-election Role, Vows Massive Mobilisation
…Urges APC To Strengthen Internal Structures ahead of other elections
A political group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Igbimo-Agba Osun, has pledged to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the January 2027 presidential election.
The group also expressed support for the appointment of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as the state coordinator for Tinubu’s re-election campaign, describing political collaboration among stakeholders as critical to securing victory for the President.
In a statement dated November 1, 2026, and signed by its chairman, Chief Engineer Sola Akinwumi, Igbimo-Agba Osun said the APC’s political structures remained intact despite the intrigues and developments surrounding the August 15 Osun governorship election.
The group said it was prepared to work with the party and its supporters across the state to secure massive votes for Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election.
“We are glad about the resolve and preparedness of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke to work together with our party, the APC, having him as the appointed state coordinator for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 presidential election in Osun State,” the statement said.
Akinwumi said the development presented an opportunity for political stakeholders to strengthen cooperation and improve the President’s electoral prospects in the state.
“With this development of political collaboration, we shall double our efforts. All hands shall be on deck as a body and as a party towards a huge harvest of unprecedented votes in Osun State,” he stated.
The group, however, stressed that achieving the anticipated electoral success would require sustained cooperation among the APC, the Accord Party and other political parties participating in the proposed coalition for Tinubu’s re-election.
According to the statement, a strong and impartial political alliance among the parties’ leaderships in Osun would be essential to delivering the expected electoral outcome.
“Guaranteeing the envisaged electoral success for PBAT calls for a strong and unbiased political synergy between APC, Accord and other political parties’ leaderships in Osun State under its state coordinator,” the group said.
While backing the proposed collaboration for the presidential election, Igbimo-Agba Osun urged the APC to strengthen its internal political structures to protect the party’s interests in other elective contests.
It maintained that the party must not lose sight of its candidates’ electoral ambitions while working towards Tinubu’s re-election, calling for greater understanding and cooperation between the party’s leadership and members at all levels.
The group said effective coordination between the party’s leadership and grassroots structures would be necessary to ensure that APC candidates performed strongly in the other elections.
Akinwumi also wished Adeleke, former Osun State governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and the APC state chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, a harmonious working relationship as they undertake the task of mobilising support for Tinubu.
He expressed optimism that cooperation among the key political actors would strengthen the campaign and improve the President’s chances in Osun State.
The statement reaffirmed Igbimo-Agba Osun’s commitment to supporting Tinubu’s re-election while encouraging the APC to maintain its identity and strengthen its electoral machinery ahead of the 2027 general elections.
