2027: HPM Targets 6 Million Votes For Gbenga Hashim In North-West
‘We’ll Prove He Is One of Us, Face of New North’ — Aminu
The Hashim Progressive Movement (HPM) has set a target of at least six million votes for the Accord Party’s presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, across Nigeria’s North-West geopolitical zone in the 2027 general election.
The coordinator of HPM and Accord Party’s senatorial candidate for Jigawa Central, Hon. Aminu Aminu, disclosed this while outlining the movement’s mobilisation strategy across the seven states of Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara.
Aminu said the movement was determined to demonstrate Hashim’s acceptance in the region and position him as a presidential candidate capable of addressing the challenges facing the North while offering a national vision for Nigeria.
“We will prove he is one of us in this region and the face of the New North,” he said.
Describing the campaign as a homecoming, Aminu said the North-West needed leadership that understood the concerns of its people while possessing the vision to address the country’s broader challenges.
“For decades, the North has searched for a leader who understands its people and their challenges while offering a national vision for all Nigerians. We believe Dr Gbenga Hashim represents that possibility,” he said.
The HPM coordinator explained that the mobilisation drive would feature ward-to-ward and door-to-door campaigns, with youth and women mobilisers expected to play key roles in reaching voters at the grassroots.
He added that the movement would work closely with Accord Party’s senatorial and House of Representatives candidates to strengthen coordination and expand support for Hashim across the region.
According to him, aligning the presidential campaign with legislative campaigns would help the party deepen its grassroots presence and establish stronger connections with voters ahead of the election.
“We are connecting presidential hope to grassroots reality,” Aminu said.
He noted that insecurity and economic hardship remained major concerns for voters, adding that the movement believed Hashim’s policy proposals offered an opportunity to address some of the challenges confronting Nigerians.
Aminu said HPM would intensify its engagement with communities across the North-West to communicate the Accord presidential candidate’s vision and mobilise support for his ambition.
The six-million-vote figure represents the movement’s declared target for the North-West in the 2027 presidential election. It is a campaign target announced by HPM and does not represent a projection of actual votes or an independently verified measure of the candidate’s support in the region.
