Abosede Afolabi Kasumu Ogo-Oluwakitan, APC House of Representatives aspirant for Olorun/Irepodun/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency, has urged voters in Osun State to make the right choice in the forthcoming governorship election, declaring support for the party flagbearer, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, just as she reached out to thousands through a large-scale welfare initiative.

Afolabi made the call on Saturday during an Eid-el-Fitr outreach programme held at her Ogo Oluwa Kitan place in Osogbo, where over 2,500 residents benefitted from the distribution of food items and other incentives

Addressing beneficiaries and party members, she emphasised the importance of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, noting that the future of the state depends on the choices made by the electorate.

“We must get it right this time. We cannot afford to make mistake again, and I believe the people of Osun are ready to do the right thing,” she said.

Ogo Oluwakitan reaffirmed her confidence in the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, describing him as a man of integrity capable of delivering beyond expectations.

“I believe he will not fail Osun People. He is someone who will exceed expectations, and that is why we must all come together to support him,” she added.

Ogo Oluwakitan explained that the outreach was deeply personal, as it was organised in memory of her late mother.

“I am from a Christian background, while my mother was a Muslim. The best way I can honour her memory is by giving to the needy, especially during a period like this. Giving is what I love doing, and I will continue to do it,” she said.

Ogo Oluwakitan further noted that her political ambition to represent Osogbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives is secondary to the immediate goal of securing victory for the APC in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

“We all have aspirations, but what is most important now is the success of our party in the coming election. By the grace of God, when AMBO emerges, then we can move forward,” she reiterated.

She also called on APC members across the state to intensify mobilisation efforts and remain committed to the party’s success.

“It’s not just about now that the election is close. Some of us have been working consistently. I encourage everyone to put in their best so that we can achieve victory together,” she said.

Speaking at the event, Abosede Afolabi Ogooluwakiitan’s spokesperson, Alao Waheed, said the outreach was part of efforts to complement the gubernatorial ambition of Oyebamiji and galvanize grassroots support for the APC.

“This initiative is aimed at supporting the candidature of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. We want all citizens of Osun State to come out and vote massively for the APC on August 15,” he said.

Waheed highlighted Afolabi’s longstanding record of humanitarian interventions, noting that she had previously empowered about 3,000 widows with financial support and has consistently provided relief materials to thousands of residents.

“Today alone, over 2,500 people have benefitted from this programme. Those who registered will also begin to receive financial support directly into their accounts in the coming weeks,” he added.

Representing the former Deputy Governor in the state, Otunba Mrs Titilayo Ponnle, Hon. Anthony Abayomi urged party members to return to their communities and mobilise support for both Oyebamiji and Abosede Ogooluwa.

“This election is very important. We must go back and prepare adequately to ensure victory for our party,” he said.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer, Victory Support Foundation, Ambassador Olubunmi Funmilayo Lawal, commended Afolabi Ogo-Oluwakitan for her generosity and dedication to the welfare of the people.

“The turnout here today shows how much the people appreciate her efforts. We encourage everyone to support a candidate who truly cares and listens,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Ojo Hafusat from Olorunda constituency, expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing Ogo Oluwakitan as a compassionate leader.

“We are very happy for what she has done for us. We pray that God grants her heart’s desires,” she said.
