2027 Presidency: Northern Women Begin House-to-House Campaign For Gbenga Hashim In Kano
Women across Northern Nigeria have commenced grassroots mobilisation in support of the Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, launching a house-to-house campaign in Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The mobilisation is aimed at taking Hashim’s presidential message directly to households and communities, while encouraging greater political participation and building support for his ambition at the grassroots.
Hajiya Zulaihat Sarauniya, Director of Media and Publicity for the women’s mobilisation initiative, said Hashim possesses the leadership capacity and vision required to drive positive change in Nigeria, particularly in addressing issues affecting women.
She maintained that Nigerian women deserve leadership that understands their challenges, recognises their contributions and provides opportunities for their meaningful participation in national development.
According to her, Hashim represents a promising leadership option for women, noting that the ongoing mobilisation would extend his message beyond political gatherings and rallies to individual homes and neighbourhoods.
Sarauniya explained that the house-to-house campaign was designed to establish direct engagement with families, communicate the reasons behind the women’s support for Hashim and encourage more citizens to participate actively in the 2027 electoral process.
The initiative also seeks to position women at the centre of the campaign’s grassroots strategy, leveraging their influence in households, markets, professional circles, community associations and other social networks.
Rather than restricting their involvement to attending political rallies, the women are taking active roles as campaign mobilisers, engaging prospective voters through personal interactions and community-based advocacy.
The development represents part of the broader efforts by supporters of Hashim to strengthen the Accord Party’s grassroots presence and build a wider national support network ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
For the women involved, the mobilisation goes beyond backing a presidential candidate, as they also seek to amplify women’s concerns in national politics and advocate a future that guarantees better access to economic opportunities, social protection and meaningful representation in governance.
