By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The Elders Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State on Wednesday took its grassroots mobilisation campaign to the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin and Ila Federal Constituencies, rallying support for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The party leaders, under the banner of the APC Elders Caucus, popularly known as Igbimo Agba, urged members of the party and eligible voters across the constituencies to turn out in large numbers on election day and vote for the APC candidate.
Leading the delegation, the Chairman of the caucus, Engr. Sola Akinwumi, expressed confidence that an administration led by Oyebamiji would provide quality leadership, accelerate development and improve the welfare of residents across the state.
Akinwumi also appealed to party members to set aside personal differences and work together for the success of the APC, stressing that unity remained crucial to securing victory in the forthcoming governorship poll.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun State chapter, Hon. Abiodun Idowu, described the visit as timely and significant, saying it would further strengthen the party’s grassroots structures in the affected constituencies.
Idowu, who hails from Ila Federal Constituency, said the APC-controlled local government administration had distributed 90 security patrol vehicles and 300 motorcycles to improve security across the state.
He expressed optimism that Osun would witness greater development if the APC candidate emerges victorious in the August 15 governorship election.
Also addressing party members, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, Mr. Eni Ade Francis Oluwadamilare, commended the state and local government leaders for the mobilisation visit and their commitment to the party’s electoral success.
According to him, the gathering reflected the unity, determination and readiness of the APC to reclaim Osun State. He urged members and supporters to remain committed to the party’s campaign and work collectively to ensure a convincing victory for Oyebamiji at the polls.
The mobilisation exercise is part of the APC’s ongoing statewide consultations and grassroots engagement aimed at consolidating support for its governorship candidate ahead of the August 15 election.
