Osun 2026: APC Chieftain, Ogunbiyi Slams Adeleke Over LG Crisis

-To Declare Governorship Ambition Thursday

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has set to declare his governorship ambition ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State.

The declaration is scheduled to be held on Thursday 10th July, 2025 at the state APC party secretariat, Osogbo, Osun State.

APC State working committee, party stakeholders, party faithfuls and loyalists of Akin Ogunbiyi , will be in attendance to honour and listen to the manifesto of the business tycoon.

A statement released by his media team reiterated Ogunbiyi’s commitment to sack the ruling party in the state and restore the sanctity of democratic governance through a transformative agenda devoid of personal interest.

The statement stated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, has pocketed the party from the reach of the founding fathers and turned the state affairs to family belongings that can be controlled at will.

Ogunbiyi further lambasted Governor Adeleke for cutting grassroots from his reach by strangulating local government administration despite a valid court ruling reinstating duly elected APC chairmen and councillors.

He called on the federal government to prevail on the Governor to respect court order to forestall breakdown of law and order in the state.

He described the Governor’s political posture to the aftermath of the local government brouhaha in the state as undemocratic, expressing doubt in the spirit of the victims to forgive the state government.
