2027: APC Appoints Ex-Osun Speaker Adejare Bello as Tinubu Campaign Council Co-Director
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, as Co-Director of the newly established Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management of the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary of the campaign council and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, following the creation of the new directorate and adjustments to the leadership of two existing directorates.
Under the new arrangement, Dr. Farouk Adamu Aliyu was named Director of Stage Organisation and Management, while Bello, who currently serves as Pro-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, was appointed his deputy.
The new directorate is expected to strengthen the planning, organisation and coordination of campaign events across the country as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The development comes days after the inauguration of the presidential campaign council in Abuja, where members were charged with mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Bello’s appointment is another political development in Osun State, where Governor Ademola Adeleke has also been appointed as the APC’s Osun State coordinator for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign, despite being a member of the Accord Party.
Speaking at the inauguration of the campaign council on October 14, Adeleke expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election prospects, declaring that the president deserved another term to consolidate his administration’s reforms.
“I can feel the victory coming in 2027. Nobody can stop this movement. Is there anybody who can stop this movement? I am going to lead this movement,” the governor said in a video shared by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Adeleke further declared that the campaign would be sustained until Tinubu secured another term in office, saying, “We are going to sing; we are going to dance, all the way back to Aso Rock.”
The governor urged Nigerians to remain patient with the president, arguing that the challenges of rebuilding the country and implementing far-reaching reforms could not be adequately addressed within a single four-year term.
“So everybody, we must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It is not easy; four years is not enough,” Adeleke said.
He added that his decision to support Tinubu’s re-election bid was driven by the need for action and continuity in governance.
“That is why I am here, to throw my weight. Because we want action, not too much talking,” he stated.
The governor also disclosed that mobilisation had commenced across Osun State to secure support for Tinubu’s return to the presidency in 2027, expressing confidence that the campaign would gain momentum ahead of the general elections.
