Adagunodo said the PDP could not do away with Omisore as one of the leaders, describing him as an asset the party must cherish and protect.

The PDP chairman stated this on Monday in an interview with CityMirrorNews on the appeal court judgment that affirmed Senator Ali Modu Sherif as the National Chairman of the party.

Adagunodo described the verdict as ‘not unexpected’, saying that the judgment is in line with the constitution of the party.

He urged members of the PDP to accept the verdict and see it as an opportunity to unite the party and settles all differences.

“This is not the time for anybody to jubilate on the appeal court’s verdict; there is no winner and there is no loser. We should see the judgment as an opportunity for us in PDP, particularly in Osun State, to unite and settle all our differences.

“Nobody should leave the party for anybody; we all belong to PDP family. For example in Osun State, we have Senator Iyiola Omisore that belongs to Senator Makarfi’s faction. We cannot do away from Senator Omisore in Osun PDP, we need is leadership skills and experience.

“Omisore is an asset to the PDP, in spite of the differences and crisis; we still have regard for him, we still respect him. He is our leader and we hope we all come back together as one big family”, he stated.

Describing the appeal court verdict as the end to the PDP crisis, Adagunodo called for true reconciliation among party lines, noting that the time for unity has come.

Adagunodo noted that what party members need to do was to be more in unison in their collective goal to take over from the All Progressives Congress, APC especially in Osun next year.

He said: “As a people, a group and as a party, we should embrace the things that will unite us and do away with the vices that divide us. The recent court ruling is a victory for all and we should see this moment as an opportunity to begin again.”
