Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Wale Ojo, has concluded plans to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the governorship election billed to hold on July 16, this year.

CityMirrorNews gathered that the leadership of APC in Osun State had met with Ojo to perfect the plans of dumping PDP.

Ojo who was the Osun East Senatorial Chairman of the party emerged as the chairman of PDP in 2021 but was rejected by the faction of Senator Ademola Adeleke because of his relationship with the South-West Vice Chairman of PDP, Soji Adagunodo.

A source disclosed to our correspondent that parts of the reasons why Ojo is joining APC were because of the newly elected National Secretary of APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

He said, “A cabinet of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola gave us the hint on a Whatsapp group on Saturday. He sent a photograph to the group In which Ojo and other chieftains of APC took after their discussion. I believe that Omisore influenced his move to APC because they are from the same place.”

When contacted on phone about the defection rumour, Ojo in a text message wrote, “the process is ongoing.”

Reacting to the purported Defection of Wale Ojo, a Chieftain of the PDP, Mr Diran Odeyemi said wale Ojo Defection will not have any effect on the victory of PDP in the July 16 gubernatorial election
