The Osun State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, the immediate elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

In a condolence message signed by its Chairman, Timothy Agbor, and Secretary, Tunde Adeleke, the association described the late prince’s passing as a painful loss to the Ogunwusi Royal Family, the people of Ile-Ife, Osun State and the nation.

Osun SWAN noted that Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi was widely admired for his humility, integrity, entrepreneurial achievements and dedication to humanity, adding that his life of service and compassion would remain a source of inspiration to many.

The association also commiserated with the Ooni of Ife, who serves as the Royal Patron of Osun SWAN, acknowledging the monarch’s unwavering support for the growth of sports journalism and youth development in the state.

“Osun SWAN shares in the grief of Kabiyesi and the entire Ogunwusi family during this difficult period,” the statement read.

The association prayed for the peaceful repose of the late prince and asked God to grant the Ooni, the Ogunwusi Royal Family, the people of Ile-Ife and all those affected by the loss the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

It further urged the royal family to take solace in the enduring legacy of service, compassion and excellence left behind by Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, whose memory, it said, would continue to be cherished by all who knew him.
