Ooni Pays Emotional Tribute To Late Elder Brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi

The Ooni of Ife and Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, describing him as a distinguished son of Ile-Ife whose life was marked by humility, integrity, entrepreneurial excellence and selfless service to humanity.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Senior Media Officer at the Ooni’s Palace, Sodiq Lawal, on behalf of the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the monarch expressed deep sorrow over the death of Prince Ogunwusi, saying his passing has left an irreplaceable void in the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the entire Ile-Ife Kingdom.

Born on December 8, 1967, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi hailed from the family of Pa John Oluropo Ogunwusi of the renowned Ojaja lineage in the Giesi Ruling House of Ile-Ife. He was the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings and earned widespread recognition as a successful entrepreneur known for innovation, visionary leadership and business excellence.

The Ooni said that beyond his achievements in business, his late brother was a compassionate philanthropist whose generosity, wise counsel and quiet acts of kindness positively impacted countless lives.

“Today, the entire royal family mourns not only a brother and son but also a trusted confidant, a dependable pillar of our family and a man whose life reflected honour, dignity and uncommon compassion. His unwavering dedication to family values, entrepreneurial spirit and genuine love for humanity will forever remain a source of inspiration to us all,” the monarch said.

According to the Ooni, Prince Adetunji’s legacy extended far beyond the corporate world, as he consistently upheld the cherished values of the Ojaja Royal Family through his humility, exemplary character and commitment to societal development.

He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant strength and comfort to his immediate family, friends, business associates and all those affected by the loss.

The monarch also extended his condolences to members of the Ogunwusi family and the people of Ile-Ife, urging them to take solace in the impactful life Prince Adetunji lived.

He stressed that the late prince’s enduring legacy of excellence, kindness and service to humanity would continue to inspire generations.

“Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his footprints on the sands of time can never be erased. The Ogunwusi family is comforted by the fact that Prince Adetunji lived a fulfilled life dedicated to God, family, enterprise and humanity. May the Almighty Olodumare grant us all the strength to bear this painful loss,” the Ooni said.
