Osun: Ifedayo Accord Leaders Endorse Asejere For Osun Central Senatorial Seat, Declare Support For Adeleke
Leaders and members of the Accord Party in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State have unanimously endorsed the State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, as their preferred candidate for the Osun Central Senatorial District, just as they urged residents to support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid.
The Accord Stalwarts, who said their decision to declare support for Olaoluwa popularly known as Asejere was based on his track record in public service.
At a well-attended political gathering held at Idi-Odan in Ifedayo Local Government, where party stakeholders expressed confidence in Olaoluwa’s capacity to represent the district effectively at the National Assembly come 2027.
Speaking at the event, Olaoluwa, described the endorsement as a call to greater service, pledging to attract meaningful development to the senatorial district if given the opportunity to represent them at the National Assembly
“By the grace of God, I will go to Abuja and bring good things to this senatorial district,” he said. “Our people deserve quality representation and improved living conditions, and I am committed to delivering that.”
He also commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for what he described as commendable performance in office, urging residents across the state to support the governor’s second-term ambition.
“My appeal to the people is to continue supporting Governor Adeleke. He is doing wonderfully well, and I urge everyone to come out en masse to vote for his re-election on August 15,” Olaoluwa added.
In his remarks, the Ifedayo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Yemi Adeoti, emphasized the strength and growing influence of the Accord Party in Osun State, noting that the party remains formidable and well-positioned to secure victory in future elections.
According to him, the party’s structure and grassroots support have continued to expand, driven largely by the performance of the current administration.
“We are confident that the Accord Party is not a pushover in Osun State. With the level of support we are receiving and the performance of Governor Adeleke, victory is assured in the coming election,” Adeoti said.
He further expressed optimism that the electoral process would be free and fair, adding that the party is fully prepared to mobilize voters and safeguard its mandate.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government, Yomi Adesina Aina, described Olaoluwa as a grassroots politician with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of the people.
“Asejere is a man of the people.He understands the realities at the grassroots and has what it takes to complement the efforts of Governor Adeleke at the federal level,” he said.
Aina dismissed criticisms about Olaoluwa’s educational background, arguing that leadership should be judged by performance and commitment to public service rather than academic credentials.
He drew parallels with Governor Adeleke’s leadership, noting that despite initial criticisms, the governor has exceeded expectations in delivering governance.
