2026: Why Osun People Need to Support Oyebamiji For Governor – Group
A sociopolitical group, Oyebamiji Progressive Mandate (OPM) has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, on his emergence as the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Alhaji Olalekan Lateef, OPM described Oyebamiji’s emergence as timely and well-deserved, expressing optimism that the APC Flagbearer would used his wealth of experience to take the state to its greater heights.
Speaking during an annual end of the year prayer , organised by the APC Gubernatorial candidate in Ikire, Lateef who noted that the state is facing critical fiscal challenges, stressed the need for a disciplined, transparent and sustainable leader who can tackle the challenges headlong.
According to OPM, the state’s current economic and developmental challenges demand a leader with deep understanding of public finance and governance, stressing that Oyebamiji’s record as a two-term Commissioner for Finance and ex Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), placed him in a strong position to deliver purposeful governance.
He added that Oyebamiji’s contributions to financial reforms under the administrations of former Governors Rauf Aregbesola and Gboyega Oyetola, attest to his readiness for higher responsibility.
“We want to join other well-wishers to congratulate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the former Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA),, on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the coming governorship election in Osun State.
His emergence as the APC Flagbearer would go along way with the good governance the people of Osun have been yearning for in the last three years. Osun is in dare needs of a serious minded leader because the state is at a critical juncture where competence must take precedence over experimentation,” Alhaji Lateef said.
“Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has consistently demonstrated discipline, transparency and capacity in both private and public sector.
“His emergence reflects the party’s resolve to present a credible and capable candidate to the people of Osun State.
The OPM Chairman further expressed confidence that Oyebamiji’s leadership qualities, recalled that when he was the Commissioner for Finance in Osun State, the state maintained fiscal discipline, avoided fresh borrowing and ensured the regular payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.
Before his tenure as Commissioner, Oyebamiji served as the Managing Director/CEO of Omoluabi Holdings Limited (formerly OSICOL), “Bola Oyebamiji had come to represent discipline over recklessness, competence over populism, and transparency over expediency” he added.
The group however commended President Bola Tinubu and the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola for their fatherly roles to ensure that the party remains united before, during and after the primary.
It also lauded other governorship aspirants for toeing the path of peace, urging them to work in unison so as to ensure that the party emerges victorious in August 8, 2026.
