‘I’m Tired Of Life’, Man Says Before Jumping Into Osun River
A middle-aged man, on Saturday, committed suicide by jumping into Osun River at Gbodofon, Aregbe area, Osogbo, Osun State capital.
An eyewitness, Afeez Oyejide, disclosed that attempts to stop him proved abortive.
The incident according to him, occurred around 10:30 in the morning.
Oyejide told our Correspondent that he saw the man around 10:30am wandering around the bridge before moving to the pedestrian way on the bridge and jumped into the river.
He further narrated: ” I heard the man saying Otisumi ( I am tired) before he dived into the Osun River here at Gbodofon”.
Another passer-by, who simply identified him as Muri said he sighted the suicider walking towards him but never knew he was going to jump into the river
It was gathered that rescue team from the state fire services came to the scene but could not rescue him.
