Presidency Reacts After Oyegun Shouts ‘APC’ At ADC Convention
A brief but memorable moment at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Convention in Abuja on Tuessday has sparked reactions online after former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun mistakenly shouted “APC” while addressing delegates.
The slip of the tongue drew laughter from convention participants, with Oyegun joking afterward,
“I think I need to drink something strong to take that out of my system.”
The incident quickly caught the attention of Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on information and strategy, who weighed in on X on Wednesday morning.
“Our elder John Oyegun is confused. He does not know where he belongs, as his heart is in the APC, not the rickety vehicle called ADC,” Onanuga tweeted, highlighting the former chairman’s ongoing struggle to fully align with his new party.
Oyegun, a former stalwart of the APC, has recently aligned himself with the ADC.
