ADC Convention: Kwankwaso Expresses Optimism Over Party’s Future
Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed satisfaction following the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), held on Tuesday in Abuja after several impediment encountered by the party in securing a venue.
He described the convention as a unifying moment for the party and its members.
The convention brought together key party leaders and members including former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar; former Senate President and current ADC National Chairman, David Mark; 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi; former Governors Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Senator Dino Melaye.
Also in attendance were former National Chairman of ADC, Ralph Nwosu; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; former Edo State Governor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; former Justice Minister, Mr Abubakar Malami; and Senator Ireti Kingibe amongst others.
In a statement shared after the event, Kwankwaso said he was delighted to attend the historic convention, noting that it united the party in a “single voice and unbreakable spirit” aimed at building what he described as a better and greater Nigeria.
He further emphasized that the outcome of the convention reflects a renewed determination within the party to remain focused and resilient in its political goals.
Kwankwaso also congratulated the David Mark-led National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress on the successful renewal of its mandate, expressing confidence in its leadership direction.
He noted that with renewed confidence in the party’s leadership, the ADC is expected to strengthen its structure and position itself more strategically ahead of future elections.
