Oyebamiji Urges Supporters To Remain Calm, Vigilant As Osun Results Collation Begins

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has called on his supporters to remain calm, vigilant and resolute as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commences the collation of results.

Oyebamiji made the call in a statement posted on his Facebook page after voting ended across the state, expressing confidence in the collective efforts of his supporters and commending Osun residents for turning out to exercise their civic responsibility.

The APC candidate said the large turnout of voters demonstrated the people’s determination to participate in the democratic process and make their voices heard.

“We have come a very long way, and today, I am deeply encouraged that our collective efforts are yielding results.

“I sincerely thank the good people of Osun State for coming out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility and make their voices heard through the ballot,” he said.

Oyebamiji also commended the security agencies and INEC for what he described as their commitment and professionalism during the election.

“I also commend the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their commitment to their duties and for conducting themselves with professionalism and integrity,” he added.

With the collation of results now underway, the APC candidate urged his supporters to remain peaceful and vigilant, stressing that the integrity of votes cast by the electorate must be protected.

“As the collation of results begins, I urge all our supporters and the good people of Osun to remain calm, vigilant and resolute.

“Let us protect the sanctity of the votes cast by our people. Do not allow anyone, under any guise or through any means, to subvert the will of the people or undermine the mandate they have freely chosen to give us in today’s election,” he said.

Oyebamiji further cautioned his supporters against provocation, urging them to remain peaceful and confident while awaiting the final declaration.

“We have come too far to allow our collective efforts to be compromised. Let us remain peaceful, watchful and confident as we await the final outcome.

“May the will of the people prevail,” he said.
