According to Amudah, part of their requests from the state government this year includes, recruitment of young and qualified teachers to fill the existing vacancies in the schools across the state

The NUT Chairman also enjoined the state government to reconsider the remaining teachers with condonation and merging of break of service to enable them to enjoy the benefit earlier given to them by the state government.

He further stated: “Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s led administration in the state should attend to the payment of rural allowances to teachers in rural areas of the state to serve as motivational pill that will enable them remain at their work post.

“Payment of grants to school head (Principal and Head Teachers) as well as retention of the positions of Tutor-General / Permanent Secretary, Head Teachers, Headmaster-General / Permanent Secretary exclusively for teachers among others” Comrade Amudah added.

Describing Governor Gboyega Oyetola as teachers friendly said that if teachers properly remunerated and promptly paid, they would be motivated to give their best toward nation building.

I want to appeal to our amiable Governor to ensure that teachers are well remunerated so as to enable them to offer quality and effective Services

Meanwhile, the State Secretary of the union, Comrade Salami Olukayode, emphasized the need for government to ensure that only qualified Teachers were employed

Olukayode noted that the only way to encourage the teachers and improve their status was by ensuring that no teacher is owed salary for the work they have done well while government should also give special treatment to them in order to make the profession more attractive.
