Six Die in Adamawa Car Crash
The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that six people died in a fatal motor accident on Friday along the Yola-Girei Road.
In a statement issued on Friday by the command’s spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, he stated that a preliminary report indicated that six people lost their lives in the crash.
“The victims were rushed to a hospital where they were confirmed dead.
“Police operatives from Girei Divisional Headquarters, Federal Housing and the Central Motor Traffic Division were immediately mobilised to the scene to evacuate the victims and restore the normal flow of traffic.”
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Hassan, commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed for the repose of their souls.
He appealed for calm, urging motorists to drive with caution, obey traffic rules and avoid overspeeding in order to prevent further loss of lives.
Saturday PUNCH gathered that the latest incident was the fourth accident recorded on the Yola-Girei Road, with over 10 people killed in less than one month.
