Kwara Govt Charges NGOs To Support People With Disabilities

The Kwara State Government has charged Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to support people with disabilities at this trying period, to make ends meet, even as beneficiaries were also implored to expend their money on businesses of their choice, in order to encourage the donor.

The State Commissioner for Communications, Alhaji Muritala Olarewaju gave this charge in Ilorin today, during the empowerment of women with disabilities by Help Women Foundation (HWF), at the Ministry complex.

Alhaji Olarewaju described the founder of the HWF a Non Governmental Organisation Ayobola Olupinla as a cheerful giver who borrowed a leaf from the current women loving administration, urging other NGOs to take a queue from her, by assisting people with special needs.

According to Olarewaju “the present Government holds women in high esteem and has embarked on lots of empowerment programs to assist the entire citizens of the state.”

While urging the organizer to keep up the kind gesture as her reward is fast approaching, the Commissioner called on all NGOs and other Human Right Activists to cooperate with government so as to stamp out rape pandemic in our society, by meting appropriate punishment on the perpetrators.

In her good will message, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaja Rabiat Mopelola Abdulrahman said God gave the organizer the grace as a cheerful giver, who gives generously to the needy.

Alhaja Abdulrahman who congratulated Ayobola for her kind gesture to women with disabilities, charged the entire women folks to monitor their children as mothers, so that they don’t engage in social vices and not to fall victims of rape.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Founder of Help Women Foundation (HWF) Ayobola Olupinla commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the First Lady, Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq for their supports in actualising her organisation’s dream of putting smiles on the faces of the needy, especially the vulnerable in the society.

Olupinla who expressed her appreciation to all for gracing the occasion explained that her intervention fund program is aimed at boosting the business of physically challenged women, whose business is affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

The Help Women Foundation (HWF) today empowered 10 physically challenged women with the sum of #10,000.00 each, to boost their personal businesses.
