Students of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, yesterday, distributed materials to some elementary schools in the community.

The students, on a course project titled: ‘Education For All, Lending Hand to Humanity’, extended their gesture to Atidade Nomadic Primary School,
Seventh Days Adventist Primary School,
Ebenezer Primary School and Baptist Practicing A&B Primary school.

Materials distributed include; school bags, books, pens, and water bottles among others.

Speaking at the event, the lecturer in charge, Peter Innocent, said the students are out to lend a helping hand to the less privileged in the society for life betterment.

He said:”We are here for a class project team ‘Education for All, Lending a Helping Hand to Humanity’ and it’s a project to encourage our students to lend a helping hand to humanity by identifying certain social situations and providing solutions to them.

“Today we noticed that Education is the key and information is power and if education is to be done there are certain materials that will encourage students to participate in education under good conditions.

“We noticed that some of these materials are lacking in this student, some of them are coming to school with nylon bags, we are here to give them educational materials, learning materials, writing materials, and stationery.

“The reason for showing public schools is to meet those who need help”.

One of the donors, Olayemi Iyabo, in her words, said “the course thought us that not only the privileged but the less privileged have to be educated as well, as a class we are coming to schools to donate relief materials to them, we also want people to have the betterment of tomorrow, and we don’t know leaders of tomorrow that is why we are here to give them a gift and talk to them for better future

“The students should stay in school facing their education and make good for the society, In society, we should be able to care about the less privileged because if they are not well trained they will be a problem to the well-trained children, the course is about reaching them, letting them know that there is a fate for them.

“We should be more concerned about the less privileged, reach out to them and help them, this is just an example to the society, we are encouraging others to rise and help this student doing this we are helping our future”.

The headmistress, Seventh Days Adventist school, Mrs. Adeniran Docas, while showing her appreciation for the good gesture of the students said it will be a relief and make education easier for them.

“I want to appreciate Adeleke university students gesture for giving my pupil gifts and I say more grace to their elbow, and we are excited about the gift”.
