Former Osun Speaker and winner of the shadow election conducted by The Osun Progressives (TOP), Hon. Najeem Salam has bemoaned the treatment given him by the loyalists of Aregbesola, saying “once bitten twice shy.”

He was also said to have dropped the hint of his desire to dump the group to return to the mainstream All Progressives Congress (APC).

Salam had emerged winner of the TOP’s shadow primary, where Moshood Adeoti and Lasun Yusuff, came second and third respectively.

Going by the result of the shadow election, Salam was supposed to be TOP’s anointed candidate. But the group made a U-turn and gave Adeoti the nod to pick the form, a development that has angered Salam and his followers with a threat from them to leave the group.

On Sunday, Aregbesola sent a delegation to Ejigbo to pacify the former speaker. But sources say Salam remained adamant, saying it was not the first time “Aregbesola will be using and dumping me.”

“This is a clear case of cheating. I won’t say more than that. But what I will do next, is in my mind, “ Salam was quoted to have said.

Among those who went on the visit are Kolapo Alimi, Elder Lowo Adebiyi and Alh. Rasak Salinsile among others.

It will be recalled that 500 TOP members returned to the mainstream APC, yesterday.
