Federal Poly Offa Student Bags 10 Years jail term for cultism

An Ilorin High Court, presided over by Justice Sikiru Oyinloye, has sentenced a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Fatai Olasile, to 10 years imprisonment for being a member of a secret cult and involving in cult-related activities in the State.
Olasile was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on membership of Eiye confraternity, contrary to Section 2 of Secret Cult and Secret Societies Law of Kwara State.
He was also sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for unlawful possession of a locally made pistol punishable under section 3 (1) of the Robbery and Firearms Act, 2004.
He was, however, given an option N50,000 fine.
State prosecution counsel led by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of the state, Mr Kamaldeen Ajibade called three witnesses and tendered some exhibits to prove its case.
