I Never Solicited For Financial Assistance, Man Whose His Wife Gave Birth To quadruplets Refutes
A father of quadruplets, Nonso Anyaegbu has refuted and condemned the publication by Nigeria Guardian that he’s seeking financial assistance to offset his wife’s hospital bill. AFAM News can report
Nonso, a quantity surveyor and entrepreneur while speaking with CityMirrorNews, said he has never solicited for anyone’s financial assistance to take care of his family or granted any interview with Nigeria Guardian, adding that the report by the media outfit is untrue and should be disregarded.
He admitted that truly his wife gave birth to quadruplets on 6th of August at the Federal Medical Centre, (FMC) Ebute Metta, Lagos State, but he’s not requested for financial assistance from anyone, as he’s been footing all the necessary bills as and when due.
“My attentions has been drawn to this malicious circulation making rounds that my wife was detained at the hospital where she gave birth to our babies. This is slander written with malicious intent”.
“Let me reiterate that I have not and will never ask anyone to solicit for funds to pay hospital bills, I had 9 months to prepare and plan for”.
“I condemn this circulation in the strongest terms and I demand that Nigeria Guardian should take it down with immediate effect and a letter of apology sent to my family”.
What happened to investigative journalism? Couldn’t the editor or the writer have contacted me to confirm the authenticity before you go to press?
“I will not hesitate to use every legal means available to seek redress to this harm you have done to me and my family unless the writeup is taken down immediately and a letter of apology sent to my family and published online within the next 24 hours”.
Nonso, while lamenting on the dastard publication, described the report as a negative publicity that is currently threatening the peace he enjoys with his family.
He reiterated that he did not give out information about his wife in her pitiable state of recovery and that of his innocent babies because of financial aid.
“The woman that came to me at the hospital said she has a brother who knows what to do to attract the attention of corporate bodies like BABY FOOD COMPANIES, BABY WEARS COMPANIES AND THE LIKES. I am not informed that this will come out in the press”.
“I have not asked anybody to shine a negative light on my family to attract sympathy, Nonso told AFAM News.
“Nobody is holding my wife a d kids hostage because of our inability to pay, so please correct and stand down the report as soon as possible”.
Earlier, the Nigeria Guardian in its August 9th publications, reported that Mr Nonso Anyaegba pleaded for financial support of N700,000 from well meaning Nigerians to pay hospital bill after his wife, Maureen gave birth to quadruplets at FMC, Ebute Meta, Lagos State.
Meanwhile, this report has sparked a lot of controversy, as the new father is calling on the Newspapers Outfit to stand down the report as it’s targetted to dent his family’s image and reputation.
