Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke has charged National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members in the State to be problem solver and productive.
He gave the charge during a courtesy visit of the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr Ayodele Adewale and his entourage to the ministry on Thursday.
Nothing that the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the state has been doing everything possible to create enabling environment for the corp members and the generality of the people to excel, he urged them to make use of the opportunity.
According to him, despite the meagre resources available to the state, the government has never relented in ensuring that the issues relating to corp members are not toyed with, particularly their welfare and security.
“The corp members are leaders of the future and therefore, they must be ready to acquire knowledge in their places of service, be productive and come up with ideas that will make them different from others.
“The essence of the service is to give the corp members opportunity to know their country better to guarantee unity and acquire knowledge. We must ensure that these purposes are not defeated.
“The management of the NYSC should also ensure that they post the corp members to where they would be relevant and productive, so that their year of service would not be a waste.
“The government has been working assiduously to collaborate with the NYSC management and I assure you that there would still be improvement in what the government has been doing”, Adeleke stressed.
