Incessant Comments On Herdsmen’s Untoward Acts: Group Raises Alarm Over Threat To Life
A renown Osun state group known as “Osun Koya” yesterday alerted the security agencies over threat to the lives of its members.
The group which argued that,its members are now living in fear following its incessant comments on the untoward acts of the Fulani herdsmen in the Southwest, explained that, its members could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed as these evil doers are now on their trail.
The organisation, in a statement in Osogbo by its national coordinator, Mr. Samuel Olaitan complained that, unknown gunmen stormed his residence in Osogbo last Tuesday around 2.00 P.M to unleash terror on him.
According to him,” luck however ran against them because I had travelled to a neighboring town by the time they came with their evil perpetration. I am now appealing to the concerned authorities to act on the group plight so as not to risk our precious lives.”
The victim who stressed that, he had reported the case to the security operatives in the state, stated that, his lawyer had sent a petition to that effect to the state police command for thorough investigations on the matter.
He further remarked that his life is presently now being threatened by repeated calls from unknown callers who spoke both in Fulani, Hausa and Yoruba languages to affirm their threat.
“For the record,two of the group members who are Abiodun Ogunniyi and Abidemi Awoniyi whereabouts still remain unknown in the last four days and all efforts to trace them have been in futility.
“I also want to appeal to the police to please act on the information to ascertain their whereabouts and get them rescued alive”.
” I want the appropriate authorities to act fast on this because, I now live in fear and anxiety. Infact, as I am now, I have vacated and relocated to another place to ensure that,my life is not being put into danger.”
“The only hope I have now is the police and that is why I am appealing to them to speedily swing into action and address the issue in no distance time.”
” I believers in the efficiency and capability of the state security agencies who I believe would not leave any stone untouched to fish out those behind the dastardly act.
