Kwara Govt denies retrenching teachers
Kwara state government has debunked the circulating rumour that the illegally recruited teachers into the state’s Teaching Service Commission were being laid off.
Speaking through its spokesman, Dr Muyideen Akorede declared that there was no truth in the wild spread rumour that teachers were been laid off as a result of the findings of Daibu Kawu’s panel, which discovered the discrepancies in the recruitments of teachers in 2014.
Dr Akorede stated that the government will sit to look into the panel’s report before issuing a white paper which will direct actions to be taken by the government while assuring that justice will definitely take its course from all ends.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to Kwara State Governor made the clarifications during his participation in a live Yoruba Current Affairs Programme, Oro to n’lo, anchored on Harmony FM, Idofian.
Also clarifying the issue of alleged undelivered shares certificates and dividends bought by civil servants during the last administration of Dr Bukola Saraki, the government’s spokesman maintained that the issues were being looked into by the state pointing out that Labour Unions were also being involved in the processes.
Earlier, the panel consisting of Comrade Oyin Zubair and Mr Niyi Ibiloye had confronted the government to shed lights concerning the vexatious issues.
The panel concluded that further searchlight will be beamed into the matters with a view to obtaining justice to all concerned.
