2027: Ayonic Seeks Osogbo Assembly Seat, Promises Free UTME, Bursaries, Job Opportunities

An aspirant for the Osun State House of Assembly seat representing Osogbo State Constituency, Hon. Abdulahi Olaiya Ayodeji, popularly known as Ayonic, has declared his intention to offer purposeful representation, youth empowerment and people-oriented legislation if elected in 2027.

Ayodeji, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, said his ambition was driven by his desire to address the challenges confronting residents of Osogbo, particularly unemployment among youths, economic difficulties facing market women and inadequate infrastructure across communities.

In a statement outlining his political ambition, the aspirant described himself as a grassroots politician who was born and raised in Osogbo and understands the needs and aspirations of the people.

He said his decision to contest was motivated by the need to provide effective representation and contribute to the development of his constituency.

“I am not contesting because I am hungry for power. I am not contesting because I want a title. I am contesting because I can no longer sit down and watch my people suffer in silence,” he said.

Ayodeji identified unemployment, poor infrastructure, access to education and economic hardship among market women as some of the challenges requiring urgent attention.

He specifically mentioned communities such as Oke-Baale, Isale-Osun, Jaleyemi and Alekuwodo, noting that many young people in the areas needed opportunities for employment, skills acquisition and economic advancement.

Unveiling his agenda, the aspirant promised to prioritise youth empowerment through employment advocacy, vocational training and access to soft loans for aspiring entrepreneurs.

On education, he pledged to pursue free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, bursaries and scholarship opportunities for indigent students, saying education remained a critical instrument for social development.

He also promised to champion programmes that would improve the economic conditions of market women and other vulnerable groups in the constituency.

On infrastructure, Ayodeji said he would use his position in the State House of Assembly to advocate improved roads, access to clean water, electricity and other essential amenities across Osogbo.

He further promised an open-door legislative office where constituents would have access to him and opportunities to make their concerns known.

“My office will be your office. My phone will be your phone. I will never run away from you after election,” he assured.

The APC aspirant appealed to residents, party members and stakeholders to support his ambition, seeking their prayers, encouragement and votes during the party’s primary election and the 2027 general election.

He said, “I have come with a clean heart. I have come with youthful energy, kindness and a philanthropic spirit. I will never betray your trust.”

Ayodeji called on the people of Osogbo to unite behind a shared vision of development, stressing that the progress of the constituency required collective commitment.

“Osogbo is our home. If Osogbo is good, it is good for all of us. Let us build it together,” he added.
