Triple Role For Makinde As Osun APC DG Names Campaign Committees
The Director General of the Osun State All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council has appointed former House of Representatives member, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, to serve in three key committees ahead of the next electoral cycle.
In a move party insiders described as a nod to his “pedigree, integrity and experience,” Makinde was named Chairman of the Entertainment Committee and a member of both the Strategy Committee and the Contact & Mobilisation Committee.
The Entertainment Committee, which Makinde will chair, parades a line-up of prominent Nollywood, music and cultural figures, including Alhaji Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan, Monsuru Obadina aka Fala, Rotimi Salami, Ajala Damola Olatunji, Toyin Adegbola, Muka Ray, Olumide Osunsina, Adeoye Bakare.
Others are; Otunba Adekunle Abolade, Hon. Deji Adefisayo, Olaitan Kafayat, Taiwo Ibikunle, Joke Oyin Adejobi, Aaree Bosun Oode among others.
The committee is mandated to drive grassroots engagement for the party through creative platforms and community outreach.
A source within the campaign council said Makinde’s selection was strategic, noting his “rare ability to connect political structures with the creative industry.
”He became the first Nollywood member to be so elected as member house of representatives in 2011.
Reacting, Hon. Makinde called the appointments “a call to deeper service,” pledging to deploy music, film, strategy and direct ward contact to communicate the party’s message of progress.
“In entertainment, we’ll lift spirits. In strategy, we’ll set the course. In mobilisation, we’ll knock on every door,” he said, promising to execute the assignments with discipline and loyalty to the party and people of Osun.
