Akin Ogunbiyi: APC Igbimo-Agba Osun Expresses Displeasure
–Warns Party Members To Desist From Making Unguarded Utterances
— Says Ogunbiyi Purported Statements Contradict what transpired during meeting with Tinubu
–Urges Public To Disregard the purported Statement
The Igbimo-Agba Osun, the apex body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has expressed discontentment over what it described as unguarded statement made by Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, an APC Senatorial aspirant for Osun West Senatorial District purportedly made in viral video.
Recall that the members of the ruling Accord Party have been circulating a video where Ogunbiyi was discussing about the position of President Bola Tinubu, in respect to the governorship election in the state. He purportedly made the state at a political meeting, held at Iwo, Osun State.
Reacting, Igbimo-Agba Osun, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Engr.Sola Akinwumi, and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Monday, expressed displeasure, saying Ogunbiyi’s purported statement contradicted
what actually transpired during the quoted meeting with the President.
The APC apex body said that the purported statement is out of political ethics of the party, warning other members of the party regardless of their status to desist from making unguarded utterances that could be misconstrued by the general public.
The statements read;
“The attention of the above body has been drawn to the untowards and highly unguided statement by Dr.Akinade Ogunbiyi purportedly made in a viral clip during a meeting held recently at Iwo,Osun State.
“Though,Dr.Akinade Ogunbiyi is a respected figure in our Party, yet this body is particularly displeased with and views his purportedly made statement as out of Political ethics of our Party which contradicted what actually transpired during the quoted meeting with the President, H/E. Hamed Bola Tinubu.
“I verily warn every member of our Party irrespective of his/her status to desist from unguided utterances that could be misconstrued by the public since our Party is known for its strict compliance with all relevant constitutional provisions as operational guides on all issues affecting.
They therefore called on the general public to disregard the purportedly made statement in its entirety .
