Osun 2026: APC Will Reclaim Osun in 2026, Adereti Tells Supporters

The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Kayode Adereti, has expressed confidence in the party’s victory ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election,
declaring that the people of the state have already made up their minds to vote for the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

Adereti made the declaration during the party’s “Work to Win” mobilisation campaign held in Ife Federal Constituency on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, Adereti said the APC remained the preferred choice of residents, insisting that there was no going back on the party’s determination to reclaim power in the state.

“We are here today for a ‘Work to Win’ campaign for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. I am 100 per cent confident that the people of Osun have made their choice, and that choice is APC,” he said.

He called on residents of the state to come out en masse on election day to vote for the party, adding that the election would signal what he described as a renewal of progress in Osun State.

“My message to the good people of Osun State is to come out with their full force on August 15, 2026, to speak with one voice that they have chosen progress and greater development for the state,” he added.

He also dismissed concerns over defections within the party, describing those who left as minor issues that would soon be resolved.

“There is no bigwig leaving APC. It is a family issue that will be resolved. Those who left are already coming back because APC remains the only party capable of winning the election,” he stated.

Adereti further described the crowd at the mobilisation campaign as organic support for the party’s candidate, adding that Oyebamiji possesses the experience and leadership qualities needed to transform the state.

According to him, the APC governorship candidate would prioritise education, agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure and economic development if elected.

“He is experienced, well educated and prepared to serve the people. He is the leader Osun State is looking for,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency, Honourable Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, said party leaders and supporters in Ife Federal Constituency were mobilising fully to ensure victory for the APC during the governorship poll.

“We are preparing ourselves and using all our strength in Ife Federal Constituency to ensure victory for our party on August 15 by the grace of God,” Ajilesoro said.

He urged party supporters to remain peaceful and united, while expressing confidence in the APC’s chances at the poll.

Similarly, APC chieftain, Fatai Kolawole, said the turnout recorded during the campaign demonstrated the strength of the party in the constituency.

“It is about the people and the numbers. We have shown today that we have the support of the people,” he said.

Kolawole described Oyebamiji as a tested and trusted leader with the experience to move the state forward, adding that the party’s manifesto focuses on education, healthcare, agriculture, rural development and infrastructure.

He also appealed to residents to vote peacefully and ensure their votes count during the election.

“By the grace of God, APC will triumph in the election,” he added.

Also speaking at the mobilisation rally, APC chieftain, Otunba Segun Fanibe, popularly known as Oko Arugbo, declared that Ile-Ife and the entire Ife land remain strongholds of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fanibe said the party had deliberately maintained silence in recent times in the interest of peace, but noted that it had become necessary to publicly reaffirm support for the APC governorship ticket.

“Today, we have decided to speak after a long silence because we value peace and stability. But we are here to make it clear that Ile-Ife and Ifeland belong to APC and support Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and his running mate, Kayode Adereti,” he said.

He urged party supporters to remain patient and steadfast ahead of the governorship election, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious at the polls.

Fanibe also appealed to residents contemplating leaving the party to remain calm, assuring them that the APC remained united and prepared to deliver development to Osun State.

“Peace and development are coming to Osun State. People should remain patient and they will not regret supporting APC,” he added.
