JUST IN: Amotekun Storms Kidnappers’ Hideouts, Rescues Five Victims In Ondo

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun, have rescued five abducted persons after storming kidnappers’ hideouts during two separate overnight operations in Akure South Local Government Area of the state.

The Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the development, stating that the victims were freed following swift interventions by operatives of the corps.

He disclosed that a 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son were kidnapped at Pelebe, along the Oda-Akure Road axis, between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

According to him, the duo regained their freedom at about 1:00 a.m. after the Amotekun Rapid Response Squad engaged the abductors in a confrontation.

Adeleye further revealed that three health workers who had been earlier abducted were also rescued at about 4:30 a.m. during a separate operation.

He added that the victims are currently receiving medical attention at an Amotekun facility.

The corps commander reassured residents of the state government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Ondo State.

He also appealed to members of the public to support security agencies with timely and credible information to strengthen efforts at tackling criminal activities.
