Amotekun Seeks Family Of Woman Found Wandering With Children In Osun

The Osun State Amotekun Corps has appealed to members of the public to help identify a woman who was found wandering along the Osogbo-Gbongan Road with her children.

The woman and the children were reportedly rescued by Amotekun patrol officers on Thursday night while they were found along the road.

Following the intervention of the officers, the woman and her children were taken to the Amotekun office in Osogbo, where they are currently being kept for their safety.

The Corps said efforts to establish the woman’s identity and trace her family had so far proved difficult, as she was unable to provide sufficient information about herself or her relatives.

According to the Corps, the circumstances surrounding how the woman and her children came to be on the road remained unclear as of the time of the statement.

The development was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Osun Amotekun Corps, CSA Yusuf Idowu Abass, dated September 24, 2026.

The Corps also expressed concern about the welfare of the children, particularly the baby accompanying the woman, and said assistance was being provided while efforts continued to locate their relatives.

It therefore urged anyone who recognises the woman or has information about her family, community or place of residence to contact the Amotekun office in Osogbo.

The security outfit also appealed to residents to circulate the information widely, saying a member of the public could have the vital information needed to reunite the family.

Community leaders, religious organisations, transport workers and residents along the Osogbo-Gbongan axis were particularly encouraged to assist in identifying the woman.

The Corps said the primary objective was to ensure the safety and welfare of the woman and her children while efforts were made to establish their identity and locate their family.
