FRSC Decorates 41 Personnel With New Ranks In Osun

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun State Sector Command, has decorated 41 personnel with their new ranks following their recent promotion in the Corps.

The beneficiaries comprise 14 officers and 27 marshals drawn from various cadres of the organisation.

Among the promoted officers are three Chief Route Commanders (CRC) elevated to Assistant Corps Commanders (ACC), two Route Commanders promoted to Superintendent Route Commanders (SRC), four Deputy Route Commanders elevated to Route Commanders, and five Assistant Route Commanders (ARC) promoted to Deputy Route Commanders (DRC).

Speaking at the decoration ceremony held on Wednesday in Osogbo, the Osun Sector Commander, Mr Sunday Adebayo, who represented the Corps Marshal, Mr Shehu Mohammed, congratulated the newly promoted personnel.

Adebayo described the promotions as recognition of the beneficiaries’ dedication, professionalism and commitment to the Corps, while reminding them that their new ranks came with greater responsibilities.

He urged them to demonstrate increased commitment, discipline, leadership, accountability and dedication to the statutory responsibilities of the FRSC.

The sector commander also charged the promoted personnel to uphold the ethics and values of the Corps by shunning indiscipline, bribery, corruption and other unethical practices.

He said their conduct, both on and off duty, had implications for the image and integrity of the organisation.

“Our interaction with members of the public must be guided by professionalism, courtesy, integrity and fairness.

“There must be no compromise in the fight against corruption, and nobody should use position or rank to undermine the integrity of the Corps,” he said.

Adebayo explained that the promotion exercise was conducted in accordance with established rules and procedures, including Annual Performance Evaluation Reports, interviews, examinations, federal character principles and the availability of vacancies.

He encouraged personnel who were not successful in the promotion exercise not to be discouraged, but to remain focused and improve their performance in preparation for future opportunities.

The sector commander reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to motivating its personnel towards improved service delivery and the effective implementation of its mandate to reduce road crashes and save lives.
