The Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) has extended New Year greetings to its members and stakeholders nationwide, urging private employment agencies to remain committed to professionalism, ethical standards, and their statutory responsibilities as the new year unfolds.
In a New Year message issued on behalf of the President of the Association, Amb. Chief Nzeribe Okegbue, PhD, EAPEAN called on members to renew their dedication to best practices in recruitment and workforce management, while assuring them of the Association’s unwavering resolve to protect their collective interests.
Okegbue noted that the new year presents fresh opportunities for growth, consolidation, and stronger collaboration within the private employment sector, particularly at a time when the industry is navigating regulatory reforms and evolving labour market realities.
“As we step into the New Year, I urge all EAPEAN members to remain steadfast in professionalism, compliance, and ethical conduct,” the President said.
“Our responsibilities as licensed private employment agencies go beyond business interests; they touch on decent work, workers’ welfare, and national development.”
He emphasized that members must continue to uphold the values and standards for which EAPEAN is known, adding that credibility and unity within the Association are critical to sustaining its voice and influence.
“While we call on members to live up to their responsibilities, I want to reassure you that EAPEAN will continue to stand firmly by you,” Okegbue added.
“The Association remains committed to protecting the interests of its members and advocating for an enabling operating environment that allows private employment agencies to thrive.”
According to the President, EAPEAN will intensify engagement with government institutions, regulators, and social partners in the new year to promote policies that support fair regulation, business sustainability, and the growth of the private employment sector in Nigeria.
He further encouraged members to remain united under the EAPEAN platform, stressing that collective action and constructive engagement remain the most effective tools for addressing industry challenges.
“Together, we can build a stronger, more respected private employment sector that contributes meaningfully to job creation, industrial harmony, and economic growth,” he said, while wishing members a prosperous and successful year.
The New Year statement was signed by the Executive Secretary of EAPEAN, Olajide Afolabi, on behalf of the President.
EAPEAN is the umbrella body for licensed private employment agencies in Nigeria, committed to promoting decent work, ethical recruitment practices, and effective collaboration with government and other stakeholders in the labour ecosystem.
