Osun NUJ Urges Adeleke To Address Issue Of 66 OSBC Freelance Staff
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council has appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke to urgently address issue of 66 freelance staff of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation osbc, ile-Awiye, Oke-Baale, Osogbo who are yet to receive their letters of employment, four months after the Governor had directed such to be implemented.
A release jointly signed by Chairman and Secretary of the Council, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu and Adeyemi Aboderin urged Adeleke to address the plight of the affected staff who are currently experiencing untold hardship as a result of the delay in the release of their employment letters.
Recall that the Governor had on May 22nd, while commissioning studio equipments purchased by government for OSBC radio, directed that the 66 freelance staff be engaged fully in the employment of the state government.
The Osun NUJ however noted that despite several move to actualise the governor’s directive, the matter is yet to see the light of the day.
With the current economic situation in the country occasioned by uncontrollable increase in pump price of petrol by the federal government which has made life difficult for million of Nigerians,Osun NUJ appealed to Governor Adeleke to be compassionate with the 66 affected freelance staff of OSBC by directing the appropriate government machinery to release their employment letters without further delay in order to put smile in the face of the affected families.
The release described the Governor as a man who also shared in the pains the affected staff are currently passing through and hope the matter will be brought to a positive conclusion earlier than expected.
