Inferno: Osun Speaker Egbedun Seeks Govt, NEMA Interventions

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun has called on the state governor, Ademola Adeleke and the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to step in and lend their support to the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the Ekosin town.

It was gathered that there was a fire outbreak within Ekosin town located in Odo-Otin local government council area of the state early on Sunday morning.

As a result of the inferno, properties worth millions of naira were consumed by the fire.

Egbedun in a personally signed statement asked for monetary donations and volunteer efforts, from kind-hearted citizens of the state to show the people of Ekosin town that they were not alone.

Egbedun also revealed that no life was lost in the inferno.

“Fellow citizens of Odo Otin Local Government, my heart goes out to those affected by the inferno that occurred early hours of today at Ekosin Town.

“While I thank God that no life was lost, I recognise the devastating impact this tragedy has had on the residents that were affected and the people of Ekosin Town in general. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time as you begin the process of rebuilding and recovering from this huge disaster.

“As a community, we must rally together to support those who have been affected by this tragedy. I know the people of Ekosin Town to be strong and resilient, but in this time of need, we must join hands to ease their burden.

“Whether it be through monetary donations, volunteer efforts, or simply extending a kind word or a helping hand, let us show the people of Ekosin Town that they are not alone.

“This is not just a moment to commiserate with our fellow citizens but also a time to reaffirm our shared humanity. I implore us that we come together in solidarity and work towards restoring the community of Ekosin.

“I want to plead with our kind-hearted Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to step in and lend their support to the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the Ekosin community.”
