Happening Now: Updates from PDP Supreme Court Proceedings
The PDP leadership tussle take centre stage at the supreme court again this morning after the last adjournment from march.
Summary of Today’s Supreme Court Proceedings.
1. The Original panel headed by Justice Tanko which also has Justice Odili and others are no longer in charge of the Case. A new Panel of Supreme Court Justices have been constituted to go on with the matter.
2. The Motion brought before the court by Sheriff requesting the court to disqualify the CTC from appealing the judgement of the Appeal Court was heard and argued but the court has asked the counsels to submitted written arguments before the next date of hearing.
3. During cross examination, Sheriff counsel, Olujimi SAN could not substantiate the locus by which he filed the motion asking the court to disqualify the CTC. E.g.”Is there an appeal before this court?” SHERIFF, YES, but PDP is not ready to appeal the judgement of Appeal Court.
Supreme Court:
Does the defendant at the lower court (Appeal Court) has the right of Appeal? Again Sheriff answered YES.
