NYSC Member Renovates Health Centre as CDSP in Osogbo
A member of the Nation Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Miss Abosede Oladejo has made a very big contribution to the society by renovating an abandoned Ogo-Oluwa Health Centre, Osogbo.
The health centre had been abandoned for over six years at it lacked basic amenities lick toilet, electricity, water, window net, furnitures, etc.
Oladejo, a Batch A corps member registered OS/16A/0540, felt concerned about the moribund health centre and began move to bring it back alive.
She began to renovate the health centre in December last year and it was commissioned on March 31, 2017. She provided Borehole, electricity, toilet, wardrobes and repainted the health centre.
The commissioning was graced by NYSC state Coordinator, Mr Attah Danjuma, former commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere, Chairman, Landlord Association, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, Chief J.A Alade, NYSC Zonal Inspector, Mr Kayode Ola Peters, NYSC Local Government Inspector, Comrade Ale Samuel, Business manager IBEDC, Osogbo Engineer Falade, among others.
Today, the health centre is back to life. About five babies have been delivered with the period of renovation at the centre.
Speaking on why she was inspired to renovate the health centre, Abosede said: “The renovated health centre was abandoned for six years because they lack basic amenities. I mean how on earth will anyone cope without water, light, even Toilet?
“The former building being used as health centre for the Ogo-Oluwa community had been sold by the owner of the house, so there was nowhere to be used as health centre.
“So, I decided to renovate the abandoned building and today adequate health care is ongoing at Ogo-Oluwa model primary health centre, Osogbo. What inspired me was the fact that it is the only one in that community serving over 3,000 houses with an average population of over 30,000 people.
“I am glad to witness the delivery of four babies within the few days of full work after renovation. I thank everybody that supported me on the project.”
